Abstract:
Nowadays, as data storage and usage grow exponentially, we notice that we are surrounded by data breaches from individuals or companies on the Internet that attract the attention of cybercriminals. At the same time, the number of cyber attacks has increased year after year, becoming increasingly complex. This paper highlights that cybersecurity solutions available in the market can protect computer systems during an attack, but there are also situations where security breaches are found. In such cases, it is essential to discover how the attack was carried out, what vulnerabilities were exploited, and how it can be prevented in the future. Thus, it is imperative to provide an overview of the main web-based attacks and analyze how they are carried out and can be combated.
