Abstract:
LTE (Long Term Evolution) is a new mobile network architecture based on the GSM/EDGE and UMTS/HSPA network technologies. The main goal of LTE is to increase the capacity and speed of wireless data networks. Some of LTE specifications are: a higher peak downlink/uplink data rate, flexible spectrum usability, flat architecture, efficiency in voice calls transport, and optimization for high mobility. This article describes the new architecture compared with other mobile technologies and provides relevant concepts about LTE security.
