    General Inspectorate of Romanian Police organized The Romanian Centre of Excellence for Cybercrime – CYBEREX launching conference in Bucharest, Romania, during 26-27 November 2015.

    CYBEREX

    The Romanian Centre of Excellence for Cybercrime – CYBEREX was created within an European project by General Inspectorate of Romanian Police in partnership with Public Prosecutor’s Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice, University College from Dublin – Ireland, ”Alexandru Ioan Cuza” Police Academy and The National Institute of Magistracy. The aim of this Centre of Excellence is to train judges, prosecutors and police officers in combating cybercrime.

    In opening of the conference, the project’s manager reviewed each step of the project as well as the obtained results after the training sessions held by 8 trainers, not only for the police officers, but also for the prosecutors and judges.

    CYBEREX

    The conference was attended by many representatives of the General Inspectorate of Romanian Police, The National Institute of Magistracy, The Police Academy, the Military Technical Academy, the Romanian Association of Internet Service Providers, as well as members of excellence centers in the field of cybercrime from Bulgary, France and Belgium.

    From the Police Academy, the police sub-commissioner, assistant professor Ioan-Cosmin MIHAI, Ph.D. – trainer at The Romanian Centre of Excellence for Cybercrime, presented ”Cybercrime‬ Threat Assessment”, in which he detailed the current situation of the cybercrime phenomenon.

    CYBEREX

    The representative of Combating Organized Crime Directorate from the General Inspectorate of Romanian Police, police sub-commissioner Bianca NICULESCU – trainer at The Romanian Centre of Excellence for Cybercrime – held a technical presentation about decrypting text messages transmitted via WhatsApp application.
    At the end, the participants made positive regards about the conference’s organization and the CYBEREX project’s evolution, and the project’s manager thanked all the partners and trainers for the professionalism shown by them through the entire project.
