PPSUC International Policing Forum

People’s Public Security University of China (PPSUC) organized the International Policing Forum in Beijing, China, on December 13-15, 2016.
The conference theme was international law enforcement cooperation and police force training. The overall aim of this event was to share the best practices and knowledge about new instruments and channels used for law enforcement cooperation.
Some objectives of the PPSUC International Policing Forum were:
- To discuss about common challenges of different police cooperation tools and channels;
- To differentiate between different forms of police cooperation tools;
- To analyze the specific training needs of the police forces;
- To discover adequate police measures in different scenarios of international police cooperation;
- To develop concepts for cooperation and support;
- To learn how to apply different legal and police systems;
- To identify specific and common features of different police cultures;
- To apply the function and logistics of police and judicial cooperation.
Romania was represented at this conference by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ioan-Cosmin MIHAI, who had the presentation “International Law Enforcement Cooperation in the Field of Cybercrime”. One of the most important aspect in the law-making process in the field of cybercrime is police cooperation. For obtaining evidences in international cybercrime acts, law enforcement authorities have to cooperate in order to seize data from computers belonging to suspects that can be located on different countries.
The beautiful city of Beijing, the excellent meeting infrastructure, the pleasant atmosphere that contributed to interesting and stimulating discussions and the competent and attentive staff ensured the success of this event. The conference was very useful for having a standard knowledge about the tools and instruments of International Police cooperation and for making interpersonal relations between officers to facilitate cooperation among the countries.
